The Application Process
1. Download the application
We recommend that students discuss the scholarship and application with their school English teachers and ALT.
The Application Packet contains detailed instructions on how to complete the application, important deadlines, and instructions for submission.
2. Complete the application
Students who need assistance should ask their English teachers and their school's ALT.
3. Ask for a letter of recommendation
Students are required to include a recommendation letter from one of their English teachers. Students may also include an additional recommendation letter from their school's ALT, but that is optional.
4. Mail in your application
Completed applications should be sent to the following address:

Postmarked on or before October 31, 2023
5. After submitting your application
The Hiroshima JET Scholarship Fund Committee will review all applications. After review, students may be contacted by email to do an online interview. Once all interviews are concluded, the Committee will discuss and select the scholarship winner.
